Ashtanga Yoga is the system of yoga preserved and transmitted by its great exponent, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. It is designed to purify the body and still the mind. The practice is characterized by Vinyasa, the precise coordination of movement with breath from posture to posture.
We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie Petersen as a guest teacher for June and July. She will be teaching both the early morning and evening classes while George and Jean are in Mysore, India. Stephanie has received authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and has had a daily Ashtanga practice for 10 years. She has made numerous extended trips to Mysore to study with Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Rangaswamy.
